About Inventory Pro
Inventory Pro is built by CISS Ltd., a privately held software company in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Ben Spalding founded the company in 1996 after years of building custom business software.
Since then, the team has kept refining Inventory Pro for warehouse, distribution, 3PL, service, and order workflows. The product brings cloud inventory management, mobile transactions, reporting, and integrations together in one system.
CISS also operates Lehigh Valley IT Support and works with regional business partners across the Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton area.
Common Questions
- How does Inventory Pro licensing work?
- Inventory Pro uses concurrent user licensing, which means you license the number of people who can be signed in at the same time. Cloud and self-hosted options are both available.
- Is there a free trial?
- Yes. Cloud users can start with a trial account through the Inventory Pro signup page before moving into a paid subscription.
- What is the difference between cloud and self-hosted?
- The cloud version is operated by CISS on Azure and includes regular backups, system management, and related services.
- Self-hosted installs run on your own servers and use perpetual licensing.
- Do I need to install anything for the cloud version?
- No local install is required for the cloud version. You sign in through a web browser.
- Self-hosted systems do require server installation and will use the address configured by your IT team.
- Some integrations or printing services may still need local setup.
- How do I connect Inventory Pro to my online store?
- Inventory Pro connects with supported storefronts and other systems through integrations and APIs.
- Depending on the store and workflow, setup can include order imports, stock updates, customer sync, and product data sync.
- Can I access Inventory Pro from my phone?
- Yes. Inventory Pro Mobile works on most current devices that still receive updates. Newer phones and tablets generally work well for common mobile warehouse tasks.
- Which web browsers work best with Inventory Pro?
- Chrome and Firefox are the main recommendations. Edge and other WebKit-based browsers are also supported.
- How do warehouses and bin locations work?
- Inventory Pro supports multiple warehouses, plus zones and location records inside each one. You can keep the layout broad or very detailed depending on how your team stores and picks stock.
- Can one item have more than one price?
- Yes. Inventory Pro supports multiple purchase and sales price levels, and supplier catalog records can store pricing from more than one vendor.
- Can items have alternate names or supplier references?
- Yes. Item aliases, engineering part numbers, and supplier catalog references let one item carry more than a single identifier.
- How are billing and backups handled?
- Cloud subscriptions can be billed monthly or annually and include regular backups across the application, database, and uploaded files.
- Self-hosted clients handle their own backup process, though guidance is available.
- Does Inventory Pro already include inventory reports?
- Yes. The base system includes more than 260 reports, and additional custom reports can be added when a team needs a different view of the data.
